Koru Games - Multi-sport tournament hosted at Selwyn District, Canterbury

Hello.

Welcome to the home of the Koru Games.

We have admired the success of the AIMS Games in Tauranga which has motivated us to create a multi-day, multi-sport tournament for year 7 & 8 children at South Island schools.

We believe that children with the opportunity to compete in this event will leave the event better prepared for their future sporting development and endeavours. Our focus on individual skill development will be evident in the format of each sport. We acknowledge that competition will be inherent in the games culture while a strong ethical base “Fair Play” will also be reinforced.

The sports included in 2017 are Badminton, Basketball, Boccia (for physically impaired athletes), Football (soccer), Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby Sevens, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch and Volleyball. All sports are hosted at Selwyn District venues.
