We love how team sport has impacted our lives which has motivated us to create a multi-day, multi-sport tournament for Year 7 & 8 children from Selwyn, Canterbury and South Island kura.
We believe that children with the opportunity to compete in this event will leave the event better prepared for their future sporting development and endeavors. Our focus on individual skill development is evident in the format of each sport. We acknowledge that competition will be inherent in the Games culture while a strong ethical, “Fair Play”, base will also be reinforced.
The sports included in 2023 will be Badminton, Basketball, Boccia, Football, Hockey, Kī-o-Rahi, Korfball, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch, Ultimate (frisbee), Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball. All sports will be hosted at Selwyn District venues.
