Oska Inster-Baynes Headlines Selwyn Stampede

Hot off his amazing result at the Half Marathon World Championship in Riga, Latvia, local running legend Oska Inster-Baynes will join the starters at the Selwyn Stampede Running & Walking Festival this Sunday at Foster Park.

"It is awesome to support the Stampede this Sunday, as it looks like a great loop course, and I think there will be some pretty fast times in all categories" Commented Inster-Baynes

Inster-Baynes is a world ranked middle- and long-distance runner who recently ran a personal best at the Half Marathon World Athletics Road Running Championships. His time of 1.04.52 placed him in 64th position and he was the leading kiwi runner of the four made the trip.

"I'm going to give the 10km a go, but I was very tempted to get a group together and put a relay team in.  I think the really exciting aspect of this event is that anyone can enter from kids in the 1km dash to runners and walker who just want to enjoy the excitement of a big event" added Inster-Baynes

The course is a 5km circuit starting at Foster Park in Rolleston and heading through the streets of Faringdon, with an addition 1km loop within Foster Park for those who need to complete the extra distance for the half marathon.

"At the Frontrunner Colombo, we are very proud to be able to support this event and I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday morning getting some air into their lungs and kms under their shoes"
